Eglinton Crosstown LRT is a new light rail transit currently under construction in Toronto, Canada. Once complete, the line will deliver 25 new stations and stops across 19 kilometres of track, both below and above ground. Crosslinx Transit Solutions are delivering the Eglinton Crosstown line of which the first phase is expected to be completed in 2021.[1]
Part of the challenge for the new Eglinton Crosstown LRT is that over 10 kilometres of the track is underground, so a high level of importance has been placed on noise and vibration once the track is in use.
Delkor Rail has worked closely with Crosslinx for the past two years in the delivery of the required track fixation system for the new Eglinton LRT.
The Delkor Rail Egg Baseplate used on the sensitive areas of the line has been specifically designed to deliver high vibration and noise attenuation, making it ideal for underground tracks where vibration and ground borne noise reduction is required.
The Delkor Rail Baseplate systems comprise of the Delkor Alt.1 baseplate, the Delkor Egg baseplate and the Delkor non-bonded baseplate. The delivery of these products started in 2017 and is expected to be completed by mid-2018. In total, Delkor Rail will deliver:
- 50,000 Delkor Alt.1 baseplates
- 31,000 Delkor Egg baseplates
- 18,000 Delkor non-bonded baseplates
The project forms an important part of The Big Move[2], a 25-year, CAD$50 billion plan that will transform regional transportation across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Region.
Sydney based Delkor Rail is working on projects across Canada including the near complete Ottowa LRT, Vancouver Skytrain and the new Edmonton LRT.
